Jamie Waylett

Known to audiences worldwide as the bully Vincent Crabbe from the "Harry Potter" (2001-2011) franchise, Jamie Waylett was born in London. Even before he beat the odds by landing a role in a massively popular movie series, Waylett had already bested fate, surviving an accident in which he was hit by a car at age nine. Doctors predicted that he would either die of his injuries or suffer permanent brain damage, but the young Waylett surprised everyone by making a full recovery. He had been somewhat interested in acting as a youngster, but it wasn't until his entire primary school participated in a general audition for the "Harry Potter" series that Waylett made a stab at a professional acting career. He was initially considered for the role of Dudley Dursley but was eventually cast as Vincent Crabbe after auditioning for the film's director, Chris Columbus. Waylett would play the role in six of the ensuing films, but was notably absent from the final two installments in the series, as Vincent Crabbe was written out of the story, his character's role in the plot being combined with that of Gregory Goyle, played by Joshua Herdman. Waylett would later run into legal trouble when he was sentenced to three years in prison on a charges of violent disorder for his participation in the 2011 England riots, in addition to drug charges for cannabis that was found growing in his home.
