A man of many talents, actor Peter Wingfield was the Welsh National Trampoline champion at age 15. Three years later he spent a summer at the National Youth Theatre of Wales and fell in love with acting. He continued to act on the stage during his medical training at St. Bartholomew in London and, a month before graduation, decided to forego a career in medicine for the full-time pursuit of becoming a thespian. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (across the street from St. Bartholomew). Fresh out of school, he landed his first role, as a cabbie in the TV film "Antonia & Jane" in 1990. Throughout the 1990s he had recurring work on British television in the war drama "Soldier Soldier," the medical drama "Medics," and the drama miniseries "Martin Chuzzlewit." Then came his role as Methos, the oldest immortal, in the TV series version of the popular fantasy film "Highlander" and a move to Canada to film the show. This led to work on Canadian and United States television in shows like "Cold Squad," the sci-fi series "Stargate SG-1 ," and the action series "24." He continues to focus heavily on the science fiction genre, appearing in the series "10,000 Days," "Caprica," and "Sanctuary."
