Ye Jin Xuan (voiced by a lead actress), a modern celebrity cook, mysteriously time-travels to Imperial China, inhabiting a magistrate's daughter's body. After her village is attacked by bandits, she encounters Xia Chun Yu (voiced by a lead actor), the Marquis of Jing An, who is investigating a plot to overthrow the Emperor. Despite an initially uneasy alliance, Ye Jin Xuan remains determined to pursue her culinary dreams in a big city. As political intrigue and personal ambitions intertwine, she must navigate this dangerous new world while hoping to achieve her goal of becoming a renowned chef. Adapted from a popular Chinese web novel by Zi Yi, which also inspired a 2018 drama series, "Cinderella Chef Season 1" is a 2018-2019 Chinese animated series directed by Ni Jia Fei.
