A group of surfers chase their sun-soaked dreams across Australia in 1971, but best mates Trotter and Snapper soon become bitter rivals as competing surf brands are born.

Snapper preps the inaugural Bare Feet Classic; Trotter, with Dani in tow, hits the road to sell board shorts up north and pay back his debt.

It's six months later, Reg is released from prison, but a surf trip with Snapper to Bali takes a dangerous turn; Buddy and Hunter party in California and Hunter finally has to pay the price of lying to his parents.

Buddy and Hunter make Trotter an offer he can't refuse to launch LightWave in the US.

JUNE 1973. Dimma is released. He’s hard, defiant – a different kid now, not interested in surfing anymore. Tracy and Trotter take him in but when he sees a Bare Feet wetsuit left for him by Snapper, he goes around to return it. Snapper is dead to him now.

July 1973. It seems like Hunter and Buddy have failed. The supplier won’t make the shorts without the full amount paid upfront, and they can’t work their cash flow around juggling having the shorts made, paying Trotter and supplying Cee Cee’s uncle. Hunter wants to accept defeat.
