Play It Cool, Guys

This is a record of the everyday lives of the cool guys who turn even clumsy moments into cool ones. Hayate Ichikura is a university student who is conscious of his own clumsiness and spends his days trying to change. Despite being popular, he worries about his lack of individuality and cannot help but see the glass as half-empty. Then, one day, something happens at a convenience store.

Shun Futami is not only handsome but also athletically inclined. This high schooler believes in hard work and hates losing. However, he can be a little clumsy, and being the MVP of the high school sports festival does not stop him from making silly mistakes. When he does slip up though, he wants to do it in style. Shun's sister, who runs a cafe, as well as everyone else around him, thinks his clumsiness is adorable, but that is not what he wants to be known for.

From Takayuki Mima's cool looks and excellent work ethic, you would never expect him to be such a klutz. His co-workers even agree that his presence is soothing, but the man himself cannot possibly see why. One day, after another day of overtime, Takayuki goes out for a drink with his co-worker Sota Shiki. Sota points out how tired Takayuki looks and gives him a piece of advice.

Soma Shiki is a cheerful trade school student. Though he is prone to making silly mistakes, he does not let that daunt him. At times, he cannot stop giggling at his own silly actions. One day, Soma learns that his friends are already thinking seriously about their career choices. While he is inspired by them, Soma also realizes that he does not have the skills to make his many dreams come true. Soma begins to wonder just what he is capable of.

Hayate is about to enter an animal cafe on his way home from a job interview when a man approaches him and asks him to go in together. It is Takayuki who felt awkward about entering the cafe full of couples and women alone. Inside, Hayate is thrilled to interact with various animals, whilst Takayuki relaxes by gazing at the cute critters. As the two relax in their own ways, they begin to open up to one another.

When Shun goes on a run at the park with his dog, he bumps into Soma, who trips right in front of him. Soma gets up and starts to crack up at his clumsiness in front of the befuddled Shun, who catches himself admiring Soma's positivity. As the sun sets, the two men foster a friendship.
