Episode 3

S1 E3: Brigitte is curious to learn more about the Falkenbergs and Carola's burning of the photos. She learns that Falkenberg's car went off a cliff and his body burned beyond recognition. His younger wife and daughter rushed back to Germany. Henry Anthiel visits and Metsla is aware he may be a spy. He again stresses to the girls the importance of maintaining good relations with the Russians. One evening Brigitte observes Metsla talking secretly to Carola. She goes to a library to look up old newspaper and school album records and discovers Carola is in fact Elsa Falkenberg. Brigitte confronts Carola about these mysteries. Carola confesses that she is Elsa, and adopted daughter of the Falkenbergs. In a flashback, Elsa tells her parents of her plan to marry the chauffeur Karl. She discusses with Karl whether to turn her father in for being a double agent for both the Germans and Russians and takes her information to Metsla
