Jamal

S1 E2: Jamal is a young Muslim straddling two cultures. Balancing music, break dancing & interest in girls with his devout faith following. The problem is his religion doesn’t allow him to have relationships with girls and perform music, so Jamal leads a double a life; he hides things from his parents. He had to break up with his last girlfriend when they found out about her, and he doesn’t want this to happen again. So when he falls for a new girl a work who is also Muslim he hopes that in time he will be able to broach the subject, and finally get the green light for a teen romance. The problem is, he is meeting her during Ramadan and his parents have different ideas, they had an arranged marriage at 17 and have the same ideals for Jamal, but he his adamant he is picking his own wife. It’s a story of two cultures clashing and Jamal is caught in the middle. What will he choose religion or rebellion?
