Kick It Like A Girl

S1 E7: The Mustangs are on a road trip, heading off to play in a round robin competition. Anusha’s bunking in with Bella but she’s still upset after getting snubbed at the party, when Bella got a kiss. She doesn’t think she should have been second banana, especially to someone as socially awkward as Bels. The tournament kicks off with Mustangs vs. Wildcats and that rivalry is as fierce as it ever was but at the end of Day 1, the Mustangs are in last place on the ladder. Gutted. Anusha tries to rally the team and suggests that they need a new leader. They decide to put it to a vote, with Marnie and Ruby looking like contenders as well as Anusha hoping this is her moment to be top banana. But Liv secretly rigs the outcome so that Marnie can keep her job, disappointing Ruby and devastating Nush. Captain Marnie declares that it’s time to go to work and Danny trains the Mustangs harder than ever. Day 2 and it’s too late for the Mustangs to win the trophy but they can knock off the competition’s leaders - the Wildcats. Although Bella offers to be first sub, the girls are adamant they need her awesome header skills. She’s fast becoming one of their stars and Anusha just can’t handle it. On the pitch, Bels goes for a header but finds Anusha’s foot firmly holding her down. Injured and sore, Bella is helped off the field but she still manages to forgive Anusha for losing it. Despite the speed bumps, their friendship is just too precious for both of them. Before the team head home, Marnie catches Ruby talking with Michaela and her Mum. Something is going down and Marnie’s got a bad feeling.
