The Roof of Africa: Extreme Enduro Safari

An extreme motocross safari! The Roof of Africa is one of the longest running extreme enduro races in the world. For over 40 years, this race has attracted the world’s best motocross riders who compete each November in hopes of including this exclusive trophy to their cases. The Kingdom of Lesotho’s landscapes, deep valleys, green hillsides and crystal mountain streams paint the perfect setting for a motocross race through the Maluti Mountains. But don’t let the beautiful scenery fool you. This race will drain the life out of you. Over the course of three days, 300 competitors will put themselves through 500 kilometers of steep hill climbs, endless rock sections, rushing rivers and elevation changes that leave one gasping for air. This year, New Zealand’s Chris Birch arrives at the Roof ready to go. He will be challenged by local favorites and Roof of Africa winners, Darryl Curtis and Louwrens Mahoney. But looming in the background are Craig Stone, Jade Gutzeit and the Polish enduro star Bartosz Oblucki. The Roof of Africa is a brutal challenge of man and machine against terrain.
