Wild Orchids

Greta Garbo stars as a lonely wife inexorably drawn to the exotic Javanese prince who adores her in this romantic tale of passion, jealousy and sudden death--Wild Orchids. During a passage to Java that she hopes will be a second honeymoon, Lillie Sterling (Garbo--Anna Christie, Ninotchka) is both attracted to the exotic Javanese Prince De Gace (Nils Asther--Our Dancing Daughters, Dream of Love) and repulsed by his treatment of one of his servants. But even as her husband, John (Lewis Stone--The Prisoner of Zenda, Andy Hardy films), continues to ignore her, De Gace pursues Lillie with unwanted advances. De Gace befriends John solely to be near Lillie, who struggles to resist her attraction to De Gace. And when John spies De Gace stealing a kiss from the unwilling Lillie, he assumes infidelity--and insists that De Gace accompany him on a tiger hunt, which John plots to be De Gace's last.
