Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait

Halfway between a sports documentary and a conceptual art installation, ZIDANE consists of a full-length soccer game (Real Madrid vs. Villareal, April 23, 2005) entirely filmed from the perspective of soccer superstar Zinedine Zidane. So soon after Zidane was famously dismissed from the 2006 World Cup final for violent conduct, this film is an incredible, stripped-back insight into one of the greatest football players of all time - a magnificent piece of almost voyeuristic, observational cinema.
