Allen McCullough

Though he is best known for his writing work, Alan McCullough actually got his start in television through acting. Born in Toronto, McCullough had his first role in 1998, when he appeared in the television movie "Aldritch Ames: Traitor Within." He followed this up two years later with a brief part in the dark serial-killer comedy "American Psycho" and went on to appear in "Funny Things" and "Jake Moxie." McCullough first began writing for television in 2005 with the Canadian animated program, "Chilly Beach,"and quickly moved on to work on the teen drama "Naturally, Sadie," for which he wrote 24 episodes. This led to a writing position on the sci-fi show "Stargate SG-1" in 2005, his first experience with the franchise. When the series ended in 2007, he not only went on to write for the spin-off program, "Stargate: Atlantis," but also became a supervising producer on the show. He kept this title on the next show in the franchise, "SGU Stargate Universe," while continuing to write multiple episodes of the series. In 2009, McCullough became the co-executive producer of the monster-themed Canadian series "Sanctuary."
