Aubrey Joseph

Aubrey Omari Joseph was born in Brooklyn, NY. Inflicted with the acting bug from the get-go, Joseph made his professional debut on the Broadway stage in 2011, adopting the role of Young Simba in the ongoing production of "The Lion King." He remained with the musical until 2012, after which Joseph began his career on the screen. Joseph's film debut came with the John Turturro-directed comedy "Fading Gigolo" (2013), which he followed with the small screen comedy film "Death Pact" (FX 2014). Joseph reunited with Turturro for the dramatic miniseries "The Night Of" (HBO 2016), playing a recurring part as the latter's disaffected teenage son. Next, Joseph landed his first starring role: that of superhero teen Tyrone Johnson, a.k.a. Cloak, in the television series "Cloak & Dagger" (Freeform 2018-), adapted from the Marvel comic book of the same name. In the source material, Joseph's character was an intelligent teenage runaway with the ability to teleport to and from a mysterious realm known as the Darkforce Dimension.
