Our investigative duo, Capitaine Elise Wasserman and DCI Karl Roebuck are brought back together when a seemingly normal couple are mysteriously abducted whilst travelling on the shuttle from France to England. Their little girl is left behind, curled up in the foot-well of the backseat. But, as we quickly discover, this was no ordinary couple. When a plane crashes the following day over the Channel, between France and the UK, Karl and Elise start to suspect a link between the two cases. But who is behind them? The police turn to the vast debris field for answers, growing ever more certain that the answers lie with the passengers who perished on the plane. The abducted couple move back into the frame; is Robert Fournier, the father, responsible for this atrocity? As Karl and Elise investigate, they discover that Robert is the leader of a dark, anti-establishment terrorist group who are intent on causing death and mayhem. He rapidly becomes their prime suspect for the plane crash. But does it really end with Robert, or is he a proxy for a greater force of evil, someone who will stop at nothing?
