Jamal must decide whether or not to have Barry executed for leading the failed coup. Molly fights, against the clock, to secure Barry's freedom, while Ihab and Samira are driven by desperation.
Barry seeks salvation in the desert. Jamal must come to terms with the loss of his brother, and, upon her return to America, Molly faces the reality of Barry's death and struggles to readjust to normal life.
A Bedouin family, bound by custom and hospitality, takes Barry in. Tariq's drastic military action leaves Jamal distraught, and Molly seeks help in navigating the Al-Fayeed family trust.
Barry becomes used to his new identity and participates in the life of the village. Amira arranges for Jamal to meet a war hero, and Ihab and Samira's plans to flee are thwarted.
The Army of the Caliphate arrives, prompting Barry to fear the revelation of his identity. The conflict between Tariq and Jamal reaches a head, and Molly and Sammy return to Abuddin.
