The World Ends With You The Animation

Fifteen-year-old Neku Sakuraba is transported to an alternate plane of existence and forced to participate in the mysterious Reapers' Game, killing monsters and completing missions.

As the Reapers' Game enters the second half, each mission is tougher than the last. When a chance encounter shakes Shiki's confidence, Neku must support her and keep them alive.

Neku, Shiki, Beat, and Rhyme get an easy mission as the end of the Reapers' Game nears. It could be a respite before their battle with the Game Master or one last trap to stop them.

The second game begins, but the new Game Master is out for blood and Neku can't fight without a partner. A mysterious boy named Joshua could be the help Neku needs.

Neku gets nervous when there are no new missions, but Joshua has his own agenda and wants Neku to lend him a hand. The pair reunite with Hanekoma and a chance remark sparks a memory in Neku.

Neku begins to remember his death, and it makes him more suspicious of Joshua; the game grinds to a halt as Taboo Noise attack players and reapers alike.
