Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born

Jeongnyeon is commended for her vocal skills by everyone but her mother Yongrye, who does not want her to sing. However, Jeongnyeon is approached by Okgyeong, the greatest gukgeuk actor of her time.

Just after the Korean War in the 1950s, Jeong-nyeon, a naturally gifted singer, strives for success. With dreams of becoming a celebrated actress, she sets her sights on the national stage, determined to stand among the best women in the business.

Jeong-nyeon struggles to portray her character and faces an unexpected crisis during her first performance. She is also in danger of violating the troupe's rules by secretly working at a coffee shop to help out the injured Joo-ran.

Jeong-nyeon makes a tough decision when her mother asks her to come home; So-bok finds out that Jeong-nyeon sings at the coffee shop; Jeong-nyeon discovers Young-seo's secret.

Jeong-nyeon is about to debut on television when she is shocked by her mother's secret and Jong-kook's ill intent; on the day of the broadcast, Jeong-nyeon does something surprising; an incident disturbs the troupe's audition.
