American Girl: Girl of the Year - Meet Corinne Tan

Happy surprises, magical moments, and oodles of love come to Corinne and her sister Gwynn when they embrace new beginnings with their mother and stepfather.

Corinne's worries disappear in the blink of an eye when her mother and stepfather propose bringing home a new four-legged companion from a puppy adoption fair.

Flurry may not look like the cleverest of dogs, but Corinne believes he can make the cut; Gwynn does not understand why Corinne is hiding things from Cassidy.

A couple of rude girls mock the restaurant, but Corinne need not worry about them. There are plenty of good-natured kids who would love to have the zongzi her mum prepared for the Lunar New Year.

Corinne's troubles start snowballing the moment Cassidy stumbles upon the truth; Gwynn loses focus and ruins her chances of winning the ice skating competition.

Corinne's tears slowly wash away the heavy emotions that weighed her heart down; it is time for Corrine to resolve differences and enjoy the Lunar New Year celebration.
