Donkey Kong tries to find presents for the Festival of Lights.

When Bluster decides to make a movie, King K Rool takes the chance to steal the Crystal Coconut, and Donkey Kong gets blamed for the theft. Donkey Kong gets sent away but returns to prove that he is innocent.

The Kongo Bongo Gone Wrongo disease causes Donkey Kong to misinterpret Diddy's warning that King k Rool intends to take over the island, and Klump to mistakenly think King k Rool has ordered his army to blow up the island.

Donkey Kong's pals, with the help of the Inka Dinka Doo idol and even King K Rool, try to keep the Crystal Coconut from a takeover and save Donkey Kong from a sleeping spell that has also made time stand still on Kongo Bongo Island.

While fishing, Donkey Kong finds a bottle with a message in it.

The Mystic Oracle of a lava lamp reads the future for Donkey Kong and his pals, causing chaos. Meanwhile Donkey Kong is tasked with writing the inscription on a life-sized statue of himself called Donkey Kong the Future Ruler.
