Gourmet Farmer Afloat

After saying goodbye to their families, Matthew, Ross and Nick set off on a sailing trip around Tasmania. The guys travel north to learn more about Tasmania's convict history.

Matthew, Ross and Nick say goodbye to their farm and families and embark on an epic circumnavigation of Tasmania, charting the food and history of the Apple Isle. The only problem? They don't know how to sail.

On the way to Great Oyster Bay, the guys enjoy some classic Tasmanian seafood, including abalone, mussels and oysters.

As Matthew, Nick and Ross sail north toward Wineglass Bay, they discover that if France had been a little quicker in their exploration of Tasmania, we might all be speaking French and eating baguettes for breakfast.

Matthew, Nick and Ross follow the trail of Tobias Furneaux, who completed the trip in 1793. Their skills on the ocean are tested as they face a difficult crossing at St Helens.

The crew explore the Furneaux Islands and cook some different varieties of fowl. They also get the chance to meet with the traditional, Indigenous owners of Cape Barren Island.
