The Guardians raid an alien prison to free Yondu and learn of the existence of a Spartax artifact called the CryptoCube that Korath plans to give to Thanos. The team travels to Knowhere and Star-Lord makes a discovery about his heritage.

Knowhere is awakened and its energies overpower Groot. Sat-Lord and Gamora are captured. Thanos attacks Knowhere with his fleet and is fought using the Continuum Cortex. Star-Lord makes a discovery about the box in their possession.

The Guardians have a close call as they make an escape. Needing Pandorian Crystals to power the Star Seed map they begin the search for them. Rocket Racoon decides to work for The Collector, unaware of his nefarious plans.

The Guardians run into the Grandmaster after crash landing on his space station called Conjunction. The Grandmaster schemes to get Drax and Gamora to do battle. While searching for the Pandora Crystals the Guardians must avoid a Nova Corps member.

The Guardians help a race of aliens fight off an attack by the rock-like Rexians. The same parasitic fungus infecting the Rexians takes hold of Groot. Titus continues his dogged pursuit.

The Guardians are caught attempting to infiltrate Nova Corps Headquarters. They are enlisted to go undercover with a gang of weapons dealers named the Black Order. The gang plans to give Thanos a powerful weapon.
