I, Sniper

A chance meeting in the Caribbean sets in motion a murderous road trip when Lee Malvo, a Jamaican teenager seeking a father figure, meets disaffected US Army veteran John Muhammad. As they travel across the US, carrying out a string of shootings and robberies, Muhammad trains Malvo for their final destination: Washington, D.C.

The snipers arrive in the nation’s capital. They begin their reign of terror in suburban Montgomery County on the edge of D.C., firing out of the trunk of their Chevy Caprice. In less than 24 hours, they leave five dead and a city, just one year after 9/11, on full alert.

The killing zone expands as Malvo and Muhammad leave from Montgomery County and shoot a 13-year-old boy. As 24-hour news media turns its spotlight on the police, the investigators have nothing apart from the alleged sighting of a white van. The snipers’ message is clear: no one is safe.

As their killing spree continues, Malvo reveals the true nature of his relationship with Muhammad. But their bond starts to buckle under the strain of the killings, while Muhammad’s military past offers clues to the terror he is unleashing on the world.

Nineteen days into the investigation and, with 12 dead, police are still looking for a white box truck. The snipers play a high stakes game, leaving a series of cryptic clues for the task force to decipher. The net is closing in but not before the snipers are able to kill again.

With the entire region on the lookout for a blue Caprice, the snipers’ car is spotted by an alert citizen in the dead of night. Lee Malvo must separate from his “father”, John Muhammad, to save his own life.
