Lili and Maryglue have been taken prisoner by vegetable creatures.

Lili and Maryglue lose Matthew. After a fall the boy gets amnesia and disoriented, becomes separated from his pals. He's taken in by the Poto-Potos who teach him to be an amateur sorcerer. After a mystifying set of circumstances, the girls are persuaded that Matthew has turned himself into an ant bear.

The kids encounter a strange can dispenser. One of the cans releases a genie who wants to grant the kids their wish to return to camp. The genie however makes a terrible mistake and instead, sends Matthew and Lili into Lili's journal.

The kids find the Bricolos and their machine which keep things on the island functioning properly. They cause the machine to malfunction and to repair things they have to find the Master Bricolo.

Maryglue's fashion sense impresses the colony of Top Moles who make her their Queen. The Moles are so obsessed by fashion that they don't realize they've been mistreating the Tarantula spiders who spin clothes for them.

The kids unmask The Gromel who has been terrorizing the elf village. The elves collect toys from earth kids through a portal which links the two dimensions. The Gromel is actually an earth boy who accidentally came to the village with the elves on one of their toy collecting trips.
