Old People's Home for 4 Year Olds

In episode 1 we meet the class of older adults and 4 year olds, along with the experts that will monitor them throughout the experiment. The group take part in a series of tasks designed to establish bonds between the generations.

In the second week of the experiment, the older adults confront a series of activities aimed at one of the most frightening aspects of old age - Memory decline. A maze is created which will challenge both the mind and body of the adults.

It's the half way point of the intergenerational experiment and this week adults will confront one of the most prevalent and devastating aspects of old age - low mood and depression. There is a series of mood boosting activities for the group to immerse themselves in, including an outdoor excursion to the beach.

This week, the experiment aims to tackle the adult's confidence and mobility. The experts have curated an action-packed week aimed at increasing the adult's physical ability. These activities will culminate in a sports day, where the group will compete in two teams.

This week the adults are re-tested by the experts, where we will find out if this simple but powerful model of care can transform the lives of Australia's elderly population. The group puts on a concert for their friends and family, which encompass all of the abilities that they've been developing over the course of the experiment, including mobility, memory and team work.

One of the UK's biggest retirement villages opens a nursery where the classmates' ages range from three to 102. A three-month experiment explores if the very young and the very old learn from each other.
