In 1598, nobleman Kim Dam-ryeong feels sorry for a captured mermaid and releases her back into the ocean. In present-day Seoul, conman Heo Joon-jae is standing on the same spot.

Joon-jae brings a woman back to his hotel, unaware that she is a mermaid. The mermaid takes an interest in Joon-jae's laptop.
