Didier Mathure is a brilliant space engineer, who is appointed against his will as the head of GEPAN, a study group for unidentified aerospace phenomena.

Didier learns that a commission was created to investigate the explosion of the CRISTAL rocket and that Elise, his ex-wife, will be part of it.

After a year on the road tracking UFO activity, it's time for Didier Mathure to finally return back home.

The GEPAN team are reforming around the Laubiac nuclear power plant affair. The investigators are confronted with a much greater mystery than they could have imagined.

Didier understands the scientific interest of the mysterious substance discovered in the plant, and asks for the cooperation of nuclear safety. But Claire Carmignac is determined to block her way.
