S3 E19: Kermit asks Beauregard and Beaker to create the set for the closing number, a “spectacular tribute to Ancient Egypt” that features guest star Elke Sommer as Cleopatra singing “Row, Row, Row” aboard her barge. Once they get a handle on the tools (Beaker surely won’t get carried away with the power saw), their work is really impressive—and mostly finished in time for the performance! In another number, Sommer makes a few false starts on “Animal Crackers in My Soup.” Her original “little girl look” is thrown out, as is the slow and sultry arrangement. Kermit finally suggests trying it in an upbeat and quirky mode—in other words, The Muppet Show way—with two small Bossmen. In Pigs in Space, First Mate Piggy and Captain Link Hogthrob fight for the right to be the “most famous pig in history” and make a “giant leap for Swinekind” by taking the first step on the planet Koozebane. Who will get all the glory?
