Marta and Manuela -best friends who are struggling with their acting careers-decide they need a change in their lives and leave for Moscow to study the Stanislavsky technique. Challenged by freezing temperatures, an impossible language, a tough teacher, and a shared bedroom in a retirement home for soviet artists, they soon start quarreling. The fact that the Tchekhov characters they play, Sonia and Ielena, hate each other, doesn't help. Having the same love interest doesn't either. As their trip progresses, in between vodka binges, and the fluctuating climate they learn how to overcome their differences in the hope of excelling on stage.
