Duke York

Duke York was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. York started off his career in film with roles in the horror flick "Island of Lost Souls" (1933) with Charles Laughton, the Francis Lederer historical love story "The Pursuit of Happiness" (1934) and "Navy Secrets" (1939). York then began to rack up a number of film credits, including roles in the Constance Bennett comedy sequel "Topper Takes a Trip" (1939), "Mercy Plane" (1940) and "Alias Boston Blackie" (1942). He also appeared in "The Contender" (1944). Later in his career, York acted in the action picture "Fortunes of Captain Blood" (1950) with Louis Hayward. York passed away in January 1952 at the age of 44.
