Hideyuki Hirayama

Hideyuki Hirayama's successful career as a director was driven by Hirayama's limitless imagination and undying ability to capture emotion. Early in Hirayama's directing career, Hirayama worked on a variety of independent films, including such titles as "Chugaku Kyoshi" (1992), the Mieko Harada drama "Aiwo Kouhito" (1998) and "Reincarnation (2000)" (2000). Hirayama continued to work in film in the early 2000s, directing motion pictures like the Mieko Harada comedy adaptation "Out" (2002), "Lady Joker" (2004) with Satoshi Tokushige and the Taichi Kokubun dramatic adaptation "Shaberedomo Shaberedomo" (2007). In Hirayama's more recent career, Hirayama directed the dramatic adventure "Three for the Road" (2007) with Kyoko Koizumi, the dramatic adaptation "Hisshiken torisashi" (2010) with Chizuru Ikewaki and the foreign "Oba - The Last Samurai" (2011) with Yutaka Takenouchi. Most recently, Hirayama directed the period drama "Sword of Desperation" (2012) with Etsushi Toyokawa.
