June 6th, 1944. D-Day. As the Allies storm the beaches of Normandy, Hitler orders the return of the Das Reich, the infamous Panzer elite division best known for its mass murders in the Ukraine and in Belarus, based at that time in southwest of France. Its mission: to push the Allies back into the Atlantic and turn the tide of the conflict in favor of the Germans. The road to Normandy is not so easy however, and the Das Reich's journey is disrupted by encounters with the French Resistance. Unfortunately, these attacks prompt the Das Reich to dispense a series of vicious reprisals amongst the French citizens.
As the Das Reich moves toward Normandy in June of 1944, the division carries out a series of brutal attacks on villages throughout France. This is not a new pattern of behavior for the unit, as the Das Reich division had carried out similar attacks on the Eastern Front. Now as they move through France they viciously massacre entire towns of innocent civilians. The French Resistance fighters do not give up however, and agents such as Violette Szabo launch daring counter-attacks. Eventually, the combined Allied forces continually beat the Das Reich division until they are a shadow of their former selves. After the war ends, the struggle to put those on trial for their atrocities begins.
