Private detective Goro Akechi solves the mystery behind why a straight-laced husband comes home smelling of different food every night; when the husband is murdered, Goro slices into the culinary secrets of his death.

Goro suspects the serial killer Maria could be involved in the murder he is investigating. He visits the apple orchard owned by the family of the victim's girlfriend to get to the core of the culprit's poisonous message.

The police come across a case of accidental death at a French restaurant. However, Goro suspects foul play. He then goes on a dinner date with Ichigo and tries to bring out the truth.

Fed up with all the food her mother-in-law sends her, Midori acts on Maria's advice and confronts her husband Kazuhiro. Midori is preparing her newest dish with more help from Maria, when Goro makes an unexpected visit.

Ichigo drags a ragged Goro out shopping when they run into Koharu, Katono's daughter. She is a bright and happy fifth grader, but Goro sees right through her. Maria plans an unforgettable lunch party for Koharu and her classmates.

Goro is forced to go on a date with Sae. Both of their families must be present, but Roku is late. Things take a chaotic turn after Ichigo arrives.
