Trey Callaway

Trey Callaway had been working in the industry for a number of years, writing scripts for such TV series as "Timon and Pumbaa," a spinoff of "The Lion King," before he created "Mercy Point," sometimes dubbed ""ER" in Space," which aired on UPN. Set in the future on a space station that served an interstellar colony, "Mercy Point" combined the hospital drama format with something akin to "Star Trek." Callaway served not only as one of the show's producers, writers, and even actors, but as its showrunner as well. Around this time, he also had a movie hit with "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer," the sequel to the sleeper horror hit of the previous year, "I Know What You Did Last Summer." His screenplay brought back the left-for-dead killer of its predecessor and set him loose on the gang of weary teenage victims, this time at a resort. After that foray into film, however, Callaway's focus returned to the tube; he's had producer duties on the hit police drama "CSI: NY," but has also worked on programs with a more fantastical bent, like "W.I.T.C.H." and "Supernatural." His script for "Lost in Oz" was a revisitation of the L. Frank Baum classic based on a story idea by the oddball director Tim Burton.
