Sisters April, May and June are daughters of the same mother, but with different fathers. When they receive the news that their mother is very ill and does not have long to live, they are all urged to see her. In addition to the sad news, the young women learn that they must take on the responsibility of caring for John, their autistic brother who lives with his mother.
