Takis Emmanuel

Takis Emmanuel was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Emmanuel's earliest roles were in film, including the Irene Papas dramatic adaptation "Electra" (1961), the drama "Young Aphrodites" (1962) with Eleni Prokopiou and "Ouranos" (1963) with Emilie Pitta. He also appeared in "Zorba the Greek" (1964), the dramatic adaptation "Oedipus the King" (1967) with Christopher Plummer and the action flick "Play Dirty" (1968) with Michael Caine. His film career continued throughout the sixties and the seventies in productions like "The Magus" (1968) with Anthony Quinn, "Hell Boats" (1969) with James Franciscus and the action movie "Cannon For Cordoba" (1970) with George Peppard. He also appeared in the Francesco Rabal drama "N.P. Il Segreto" (1971) and "The Golden Voyage of Sinbad" (1973). Toward the end of his career, he tackled roles in "Promised Woman" (1974), "That Lucky Touch" (1975) and "Caddie" (1976). He also appeared in "Kostas" (1979) and the Anthony Quinn action picture "Lion of the Desert" (1981). Emmanuel more recently worked on the Eva Sitta drama "Island" (1991).
