Friends

S1 E2: This episode introduces Mafalda's friends and reveals why Quino decided to add new characters as well as his source of inspiration for them. Mafalda's friends all have well-defined personalities. Felipe is a dreamer who dreads going to school and is in love with a girl he doesn't dare speak to. Manolito works at his father's store and dreams of becoming a millionaire. Susanita is the opposite of Mafalda, and her only aspiration is to get married and have children. Miguelito, the youngest, is self-centered and naive. Liniers, Montt, Rep, Maitena, Tute, and Raquel Riba Rossi analyze emblematic strips featuring these characters while revealing the influence of cinema on Quino and the new ideas that the author brought to the world of comics.
