Richard Epcar

Early in his acting career, Richard Epcar made what was either an astute or an accidental decision. He got into voice-over work. As a result, he has established himself as a leader in that field, providing the voice of Batô for the English language versions of two "Ghost in the Shell" movies (1995, 2004). As the main male character in the animated series, he helps female Cyborg Major Motoko Kusanagi hunt down an evil computer hacker. Epcar has also voiced a great number of characters on American cartoon and live action kids' series, enlivening everything from Invenusable Flytrap on "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" to Barbarax on "Power Rangers Lost Galaxy." All told, he has been the voice of nearly a dozen different characters on the "Power Rangers" franchise of programs. More recently, Epcar has segued to the equally serpentine and endless world of video game voice-over work, providing background voices for "Call of Duty: Black Ops" and the sounds of Maiden on a "Mortal Kombat" game.
