John Wengraf

John Wengraf was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Wengraf began his acting career appearing in various films, such as the Humphrey Bogart drama "Sahara" (1943), "Strange Affair" (1944) and "Tomorrow Is Forever" (1946). He also appeared in "The Razor's Edge" (1947) with Tyrone Power, the Dennis O'Keefe documentary "T-Men" (1948) and "Sofia" (1948) with Gene Raymond. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the fifties, appearing in the action movie "Tropic Zone" (1953) with Ronald Reagan, the drama "The Desert Rats" (1953) with Richard Burton and the action film "Flight to Tangier" (1953) with Joan Fontaine. He also appeared in the Jane Russell musical "The French Line" (1954). In the latter part of his career, he continued to act in the comedy adaptation "Oh, Men! Oh, Women!" (1957) with Dan Dailey, "The Pride and the Passion" (1957) with Cary Grant and the Sterling Hayden drama "Valerie" (1957). He also appeared in the Francis Lederer horror movie "The Return of Dracula" (1958) and the dramatic adaptation "Portrait in Black" (1960) with Lana Turner. Wengraf last acted in "Ship of Fools" (1965). Wengraf passed away in May 1974 at the age of 77.
