Episode 9

S2 E9: In this Christmas special, George and William look back at the design, build and construction of their ambitious multifunctional tree house build in the Kielder Water and Forest Park, Northumberland. They discuss the challenges faced to create an accessible space on a difficult site – using 3 shapes to create a stunning modular structure that took advantage of the views. We revisit Jay and Jonathan at the ambulance turned campervan in Norfolk, catch up with designer Barry at his hexagonal ‘Hive Haus ’prototype home in Lancashire and hit the Brighton coastline to see carpenter Adam and his double-decker bus holiday home conversion to see how they are all getting on. To get into the Christmas spirit George visits an incredible man-made stalactite crystal grotto in Surrey, originally built as a folly which has been painstakingly restored. And he meets the woman who has taken a Victorian flat pack tin chapel and rebuilt and renovated it in Shropshire to create a magical holiday home. And George gathers a few familiar faces from across the series for an ‘Amazing Spaces’ Christmas catch up with some help from Rew at the Land Rover cocktail bar.
