NHL Stanley Cup
Game 1: Red Wings 3, Penguins 1
S4 E2:
The first game of a rematch of last year's Stanley Cup Final was a tight affair with the Detroit Red Wings able to take advantage of the breaks and the Pittsburgh Penguins unable to have bounces go their way. 13:38 into the first period, Brad Stuart fired a shot that bounced off of the end boards and deflected in off of the back of goalie Marc-Andre Fleury's leg. Ruslan Fedotenko scored for the Penguins with less than two minutes to go in the period to tie the game at 1. Johan Franzen backhanded another puck that bounced off of the lively end boards, and the puck again deflected in off of Fleury's leg with less than a minute left in the second period. Justin Abdelkader's first playoff goal at 2:46 of the third period was the final tally of the game, giving the Red Wings a 3-1 victory, and 1-0 Stanley Cup Final series lead over the Penguins.
