S2 E13: Remy (Dondré T. Whitfield) and Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner) celebrate their successful harvest festival over dinner where they discover they might have different visions of their relationship. Nova (Rutina Wesley) unexpectedly sees Calvin (Greg Vaughan) at a café and when the two later meet, they finally face the harsh reality of an impossible future. Violet (Tina Lifford) receives a life changing diagnosis, which leads her canceling her plans to host a dinner for Darla’s (Bianca Lawson) parents. Charley steps in to help, and Darla feels like a member of the Bordelon family for the first time. At dinner, Darla’s parents express praise for Nova and Charley, leaving her feeling slighted. Later, Darla and her mother discuss where they stand. Finally, with Darla’s promise to make amends, Darla reveals a devastating secret to Ralph Angel (Kofi Siriboe).
