A Mother's Heart

The melodramatic story of a widow, Marie Paradis, as she becomes an elderly dependant. Taking charge is her daughter-in-law, the cruel and stingy Céleste. Marie answers to all the stereotypes of the traditional mother: she's generous, loving, tolerant and kind. In turn, her own son with his wife answer back with nothing but maltreatment and cruelty. The character of the mother rings a little old-fashioned, but the behavior of the couple taking care of her isn't so out-of-date!
