An Audience of Chairs
A beautiful gifted, but mentally ill woman loses her two young children when, caught up in a manic episode, she leaves them unattended on an island near her summer home. Although they are rescued unharmed, her world unravels. Her husband Duncan ends their marriage and takes the children back to his native Scotland. She is left to struggle with her demons and live without sight or sound of her children. Twenty years pass, Maura learns how to live with her loss and her mental illness, and then the miraculous day arrives when she is presented with an opportunity to re-connect with her daughters. This universal story of the redemptive power of a mother's love is adapted from the popular, award-winning novel, "An Audience of Chairs" by Joan Clark.
