Beyond Rangoon

Based on a true story, American doctor Laura Bowman travels to Burma with her sister after the murder of her son and husband. While there, she falls in with students fighting for democracy and loses her passport during a rally. Forced to stay in Rangoon, she travels through Burma and witnesses firsthand the effects of the military dictatorship.
