Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends)
On November 13, 2015 at the Bataclan theater in Paris, terrorists killed 89 people and injured hundreds more at a Eagles of Death Metal concert. The band members survived, and a year later returned to Paris to give a triumphant, defiant concert at the Olympia Theater.Colin Hanks' deeply moving documentary about rock and roll, terrorism and friendship tells the story of the two Palm Desert boys who formed Eagles of Death Metal, and were transformed by the tragedy. Best friends since high school, the charismatic, furiously energetic lead singer Jesse Hughes (aka Boots Electric) and drummer Josh Homme (aka Baby Duck) guide us through the evolution of the band, whose joyful dedication of the glories of rock and roll comes face to face with the nihilism of the terrorists. This raw, intimate and rousing documentary features testimony by many of the survivors of that horrific night, and appearances by Bono and The Edge, who offered support to the band in the immediate aftermath of the attack.
