A 12-year-old Syrian refugee finds a book of poetry written by celebrated 13th-century poet Rumi. The book becomes a magical gateway in which Lamya meets a troubled young Rumi when he, too, was a refugee. In a shared dream world populated by monsters and other threats, Lamya must help Rumi write the poem that will save her life 800 years later.
