Social Guidance
Albuquerque, New Mexico, 1951. Sid Silver (Steven Gilborn), the head of Formosa Films, has a problem. His social guidance films are no longer effective on their teenage audience. The school board threatens to cut Sid's funding unless he creates films that are more relevant. He finds his answer in Clay Crawford (Jamieson Stern), who Sid believes is a Method actor from New York City. Clay may actually be a clever con man, on the run from a bounty hunter (Geoffrey Lewis). Clay wants a quick buck to help him get to California. Sid wants a quick fix to his problems. Both get much more than they bargained for. Sid discovers it's going to take more than just one actor to turn his films around. It's going to take a whole new approach to filmmaking, and to life itself. See how things turn out in Social Guidance– a warm and engaging comedy in the spirit of Pleasantville, Ed Wood and Shadow of the Vampire.
