Star of Midnight

This mystery features William Powell and Ginger Rogers in the story of a New York lawyer who tries to track down a kidnapped actress. Suave attorney Clay Dalzell (Powell) is fonder of solving crimes than trying cases. His elegant girlfriend, Donna (Rogers), hopes that Clay will settle down and marry her. But his friend Tim Winthrop (Leslie Fenton) approaches Clay with a mystery that the amateur sleuth can't resist: Tim's girlfriend Alice disappeared a year ago, but he recently saw her onstage. The stakes are raised when Clay is charged with murder during his investigation.
