Tempest

In Russia during the 1770s, Catherine the Great (Viveca Lindfors) orders Peter Griniev (Geoffrey Horne) to the distant military base of Fort Bielogorsk. On the journey, Peter and his loyal servant, Savelic (Oscar Homolka), rescue a man in the snow, unaware that he is the rebel leader Pugachev (Van Heflin). At the fort, Peter clashes with the commanding officer yet becomes involved with his daughter, Masha (Silvana Mangano), while preparing for an impending attack by Pugachev's forces.
