The Great O'Malley

Academy Award winner Humphrey Bogart stars with Pat O'Brien in this tale of a police officer who can't see the damage he does in this blind obsession with upholding the letter of the law--The Great O'Malley. When a newspaper runs a scathing story about dedicated police officer James O'Malley (O'Brien--Bombardier), O'Malley is demoted to traffic patrol. Even then, he is so diligent in writing a ticket for a broken muffler to John Phillips (Bogart--Casablanca) that he causes Phillips to be fired when he's late for work--which nearly destroys Phillips and his family until O'Malley sees the harm that his actions are causing.
